On the 16th September Her Majesty’s Ambassador to China, Dame Barbara Woodward, opened up the British Embassy to more than 1,500 VIPs and members of the public.
As part of the Spirit of Youth programme run by the British Council in China and now in its third year, the event offered the ultimate experience in discovering all the many aspects of the UK and British culture.
The day featured performances, talks, showcases and exhibitions representing education, travel, culture, innovation and sport from the UK, representing the ultimate day out for feeling the energy of modern UK.
As a part of the day, Gaia Technologies Chinese partners ECS ran an education technology seminar, introduced by Dame Barbara Woodward herself, which showcased Gaia’s market-leading education software package, Gaia 3D.
Gaia also held open demonstrations throughout the day, giving eager visitors of all ages the opportunity to explore some of the thousands of 3D environments and objects contained within the Gaia 3D software.

“We’re proud to support the Ambassador and the British Embassy, by showcasing the latest in UK educational technology.”, said Dafydd Davies, Gaia’s Development Manager for China, “Gaia is committed long-term to developing its presence in China.”.
Gaia Technologies, the only education company at the event, were joined by companies from other industries, including sport, culture and healthcare.
The Gaia 3D software is being used by schools across China and we are currently partnering with the China Future Schools Lab on a China-wide 3D school pilot to demonstrate 3D learning.
